107.1 The Peak

What is the station format of the Peak?  What station do you listen to?  What is the format?

Well I am an avid listener of the Peak even though here in South Westchester I find it a little harder to get good reception of their broadcasts.  The peak station format is "Rock AC" which is classified as "A radio station programming format. The music played is mostly Rock music released during the past 15 or 20 years. This format is designed for the general Rock listener who is not interested in following current releases. These stations include playlists with some Classic Rock and some Current Rock material. Some of the "name" formats such as "Jack" include a sprinkling of Pop hits as well."  As I said enjoy listening to the Peak, but I also listen to other radio stations including Power 105.1 and Hot 97.1 which are both hip-hop stations.

Pamal Broadcasting Ltd. is a family owned radio ownership.  They have stations in medium to small markets in the Northeast and Flordia.  The company is based in Latham, NY which is a suburb of Albany.  Pamal was founded by business man James Morrell in 1986 as Albany Broadcasting with the purchase of WFLY and WPTR.  The Pamal name was adopted in 1996 and was based of the names of Morrell's children.  The Pamal Broadcasting company also owns and operates 107.1 the Peak which is located in White Plains, NY.  In 2005, Pamal Broadcasting was the 27th-largest owner of radio stations in the United States. By mid 2011, the company has divested itself of 40% of its radio station licenses from that 2005 high water mark.
